Innovative Approaches

“Just as energy is the basis of life itself, and ideas the source of innovation,so is innovation the vital spark of all human change, improvement and progress.”
(Ted Levitt, 1925-2006)

The database on “innovative approaches” allows access to such ideas - being the source of innovation in the field of vocational education and training (VET) and human resource development (HRD). These have been developed and implemented all over Europe by companies, vocational schools, other providers of vocational training and education or through cooperation among these VET/HRD key players.

The basis for this database is the willingness of these key players to share their ideas with their colleagues on how to educate and train the current and future workforce in the automotive sector. The database therefore allows for sharing and searching for VET/HRD approaches on topics such as apprenticeship training, training for older workers, curricula development, training in the workplace, training for teachers and trainers, training in "green" technologies, or the application of European instruments such as the European Qualifications Framework.

Please feel encouraged to use this database as a source of ideas but also to share your own education and training approaches as applied in your organisation. This will ensure that this database remains a source of and for innovation in the field of vocational education and training in the automotive sector.
